Sewing Patterns you can download now to create the UNIQLO-inspired bag

This is the pattern Isabel has used in the image. She found it straight forward, fun to make and is currently making bag number 4!

This pattern has also shown great popularity in the instagram sewing world and is a great alternative to the bestie bag.

3 Top bag making tips to help this project run smoothly

  1. Don't be put off by the lining process, it's not as scary as it seems. Isabel recommends using a cotton lining if you're a beginner as the more satin linings a much tricker. Using a fabric with a definite right and wrong side certainly helps!

  2. If you've chosen your favourite fabric but it's not quite thick enough, you could try interfacing to provide more structure to your bag. Alternatively, quilting using wadding adds a nice visual touch

  3. You don't need a special sewing machine to sew this bag. Most machines come with a zipper foot, so you should be good to go. We also recommend grabbing a piece of scrap fabric and running a stitch to determine your needle size. Remember, the thicker the fabric, the thicker the needle.

Did you know we also have a sewing school on-site called School of Sew, where we often run bag workshops as well as many other sewing classes.
